ROV Jason

Jason is a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) designed and built by WHOI’s Deep Submergence Laboratory.
Over the last 8 years, ESS has worked with WHOI on buoyancy repairs and upgrades for their Jason ll ROV. In the fall of 2014 an additional 500 lbs of 7000 meter rated syntactic was machined, bonded and added to the existing buoyancy system. The overhaul was performed in less than two weeks, allowing the WHOI team to reinstall the buoyancy and fly Jason to the Pacific to meet a critical dive schedule.
